Responsibilities:
· Identify and evaluate clinical stage licensing, partnering or acquisition opportunities for drug development programs
· Build solid working relationships with KOLs in the oncology and NASH space
· Scientifically evaluate novel oncology targets based on published literature and unpublished studies
· Conduct scientific, clinical and initial commercial diligence of potential pipeline opportunities
· Build complex valuation models to help summarize diligence and support prioritization
· Gather relevant information to an asset under evaluation using various databases, the scientific literature, and interviews with key opinion leaders in the field, and with outside consultants
· Lead weekly meetings to discuss and prioritize assets based on the merits of the scientific data and available clinical proof of concept
· Maintain internal documentation on potential portfolio assets and communicate across functional groups and leadership team
· Create, update and maintain proprietary databases related to deal flow, targets and clinical trials of interest
Qualifications:
· MD, PhD, or other advanced degree in the biomedical field required.
· Minimum 5 years of experience within the biopharmaceutical industry or related biotech/healthcare practice (e.g., consulting, investment banking, venture capital) and minimum of 3 years of relevant business experience in a search and evaluation function.
· Deep scientific knowledge in the Oncology and NASH therapeutic area with understanding of the preclinical drug discovery and clinical development and approval process.
· A proven record of leading search and evaluation efforts in discovery, clinical development, or business development projects.
· Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
· Can-do attitude and ability to work in a highly dynamic and agile business environment including ability to interact and communicate to C-level management.
· Deep scientific curiosity and commitment to advancing therapeutic innovation that provides better solutions for patients.
· Proven ability to efficiently lead multiple projects in a matrixed environment with a high degree of independence.
· Consistently delivers on commitments in a timely manner.
· Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and lead others to accomplish challenging goals and objectives.
· Experience working with both internal and external multidisciplinary teams/customers.
· Flexibility to travel 30%
